Send your first brief
From creating an order to sending the link, and what your client sees when they open it.
2 minute read
You have a studio and at least one service. Four minutes of work stand between you and a client answering your questions.
1. Create the order
From Orders, click New order. Two things are asked:
- The service, which decides what gets asked. It is pre-filled with whichever one you marked as the default.
- The client, chosen from your list or created on the spot. It is optional: an order can exist before you know who it is for.
Kalepio creates the order and its first round of questions together. That is what the brief is: round one, not a separate kind of thing.
2. Get the link
Open the order. The first round is already published, and it carries a link along the lines of
kalep.io/your-studio/f/….
Copy it and send it however you normally would: by e-mail, by message, over WhatsApp. Kalepio does not take over the way you talk to your clients.
3. What your client sees
A page in your colours, with your logo and your studio's name. Your questions, in the order you asked them. Nothing internal: no order number, no status, none of your notes.
They install nothing and create no account. They answer from their phone, upload their photos, and submit.
4. What happens once they answer
Three things, in this order:
- You get a notification.
- The answers appear on the order, with the files they sent.
- The round locks. It can never be edited again, by you or by them.
That lock is deliberate, and it is Kalepio's central rule: nothing a client has already answered gets rewritten. If something is missing, you do not edit the brief, you add a round.
Your client, meanwhile, gets a tracking link. It is the only link they will ever need to keep: later rounds, deliveries and payment requests all appear there on their own, without you having to track them down to send another one.
